  The United Arab Emirates has introduced new Environmental, Social, and Governance ( ESG) reporting requirements , marking a significant shift toward stricter sustainability compliance for businesses operating in the country. The regulatory changes form part of the UAE’s broader strategy to support its Net Zero 2050 initiative and enhance transparency in corporate environmental practices. Under the Federal Decree- Law No. 11 of 2024 on the Reduction of Climate Change Effects , companies across the UAE— including those operating in free zones— are now required to measure, report, and manage greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impacts .
